Founder and Chairman, Hector Alcalde, has many years of experience in the legislative process in Washington, DC. Recognized as one of the leading practitioners in the demanding world of government representation, his experience and achievements on behalf of clients cover a broad range of issues and policies.
A native of New York, he made his home in Florida as an educator. He came to Washington as the Chief of Staff to a former Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee where he served in that capacity for twelve years.
Upon leaving Capitol Hill, he founded the firm in 1973. He has represented and been a consultant to numerous national and international corporations and organizations. In addition, he has an extensive success record in representing public bodies at the federal and state level.
He has served on the Boards of public companies among which have been Silver King Communications Inc., Precision Systems, and SAFLINK Corporation. As part of his on-going interest in education, he has also served as: a Member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Tampa, as Rector and Board Member of George Mason University, and Trustee of the Fairfax County Public Schools Education Foundation.
He is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and of Spain’s “Cruz de Caballero de la Orden de Isabel la Catolica” the highest honor bestowed by the Government of Spain to a foreign citizen.
An active fundraiser for public causes, he has served on the boards of several charitable organizations in the Washington Metropolitan area. He is a well-known horse breeder in Virginia, and has served on numerous equine-related organizations and boards, such as the Washington International Horse Show, and the International Andalusian and Lusitano Association, and Founder and Board Member of The Four in Hand Club. He presently serves as a Board Member of the Arts Council of Fairfax County, and the National Sporting Library and Museum Board of Middleburg, Virginia.
Mr. Alcalde holds a B.A. in Government from the University of Tampa, and an M.A. in Education and Administration from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University.
