Kayla Joyner
Legislative Assistant
Kayla Joyner, Legislative Assistant, provides research and administrative support to the firm’s associates and partners, as well as helping the firm’s staff with tasks to assist their wide variety of clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Joyner served as an intern in Senator Mark Warner’s (D-VA) Capitol Hill office, as well as an intern in his Norfolk, Virginia District office. Her experience included attending constituent meetings, drafting health and education memos, writing policy and hearing summaries, and working on casework for people throughout the state of Virginia. Ms. Joyner has also served as an intern for S&R NOVA Defenders Law Firm where she assisted attorneys with day-to-day tasks and attended court cases and hearings with them.
A native of Northern Virginia, Ms. Joyner graduated with Honors from Old Dominion University with a B.A. in Political Science. While in school, Ms. Joyner was inducted into numerous honors societies including The National Political Science Honor Society (Pi Sigma Alpha), and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Ms. Joyner is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy degree at George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government.
